This Fort Vancouver Centennial Half Dollar was designed by Laura Gardin Fraser. The obverse of the Fort Vancouver Centennial Half Dollar features a portrait of John McLoughlin who built Fort Vancouver on the Columbia River in 1825. The reverse of the Fort Vancouver Centennial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar features a pioneer settler in a buckskin suit with a musket in his hands. Fort Vancouver is featured in the background.
