We are pleased to offer for sale this Providence Rhode Island Tercentenary Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1936) in XF-40 or Better Condition.  This Providence Rhode Island Tercentenary Silver Commemorative Half Dollar was struck to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Roger William's founding of Providence .  There were only 50,034 of the Providence Rhode Island Tercentenary Silver Commemorative Half Dollars minted at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints in 1936, making of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector.  This Providence Rhode Island Tercentenary Silver Commemorative Coin was designed by Arthur Graham Carey and John Howard Benson.  The Rhode Island Commemorative Silver Half Dollar features Roger Williams in a canoe being greeted by an Indian on the obverse and the anchor of Hope with a shield and mantling on the reverse. The Providence Rhode Island Tercentenary Silver Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
