We are pleased to offer for sale this Stone Mountain Memorial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1925) in XF-40 or Better Condition. This Stone Mountain Memorial Half Dollar was designed by Gutzon Borglum who later sculpted Mount Rushmore.  The funds received from the sale of these Stone Mountain Memorial Half Dollars were devoted to the expense of carving figures of Confederate leaders and soldiers on Stone Mountain Georgia.  There were only 1,314,709 of this Stone Mountain Memorial Half Dollar  minted at the Philadelphia Mint in 1925, making it of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector.  The obverse of the Stone Mountain Memorial Silver Half Dollar features General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson and General Robert E. Lee mounted on horse back.  The reverse of the Stone Mountain Memorial Silver Half Dollar shows a bald eagle perched on a rock with wings extended and the words "MEMORIAL TO THE VALOR OF THE SOLDIER OF THE SOUTH".   The Stone Mountain Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
