We are pleased to offer for sale this Monroe Doctrine Centennial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1923) in XF-40 or Better Condition.  This Monroe Doctrine Centennial Half Dollar was designed by Chester Beach and was struck to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Monroe Doctrine.  The obverse of the Monroe Doctrine Centennial Commemorative Half Dollar features the heads of James Monroe and John Quincy Adams.  The reverse of the Monroe Doctrine Centennial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar shows the Western Hemisphere in forms that resemble two female figures .  There were only 274,077 of this Monroe Doctrine Centennial Silver Half Dollar minted at the San Francisco Mint in 1923, making it of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector.  The Monroe Doctrine Centennial Commemorative Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
