• History: This stamp sheet commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp Act, a bill passed in 1934 that authorized the first issuance of what is today known as the Federal Duck Stamp. This stamp must be purchased by hunters of ducks, geese, and other migratory waterfowl, and is also used as admission to National Wildlife Refuges. The proceeds from the sale of these stamps is used to fund wetland conservation.
