History: The Hanukkah stamp sheet commemorates the Jewish festival also known as "The Feast of Dedication" or the "Festival of Lights." It is an eight day celebration which observes an event that happened around 164 B.C. where a small group of Jews led by Judah Maccabee took back their temple that had been captured by the King of Syria. The stamp depicts the image of a "dreidle" which is a popular game in Jewish culture which is based on chance and involves placing bets.
