We are pleased to offer for sale this "Save the Whales" Mother of Pearl SILVER PROOF SET (6 Coins from 6 Countries).  This set contains the first ever Mother of Pearl Coins.  Each coin features a different design of one of the world's endangered whales.  The whale images are carved directly into the Mother-of-Pearl creating a sculpted image of incredible depth and beauty.  Each Mother-of-Pearl "Save the Whales" carving is set in a .999 Pure Silver  PROOF Coin with a total weight of 31.10 grams and a diameter of 40mm.  There were only 2000 of these sets minted in 2002 making it a very unique collector's item!

Included in the set are six "Save the Whales" Mother-of-Pearl Silver PROOF Coins, 1 each from: Fiji, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Tokelau, and Naura.

The 6 endangered whales featured on the coins are the :  Humpback Whale, Sperm Whale, Blue Whale, Fin Whale, Right Whale, and the Bowhead Whale.
