This 1936-S Arkansas Centennial Half Dollar was designed by Edward Everett Burr and was struck in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the admission of Arkansas into the Union. The obverse of the Arkansas Centennial Half Dollar features an eagle perched upon a rising sun holding a banner inscribed IN GOD WE TRUST at left and E PLURIBUS UNUM at right. The reverse of the 1936-S Arkansas Centennial Half Dollar shows heads of an Indian Chief of 1836 and an American Girl of 1936.
