Mercanti.  This book was written by John M Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint and designer of the reverse of the Silver Eagle.  This is the first encyclopedia style book written on the United States Bullion Program.

American Silver Eagle Coins were first minted in 1986.  Since then, 1/3 of  a billion coins have been sold by the US Mint.
