We are pleased to offer for sale this 2000-P Leif Ericson Commemorative Silver Dollar graded and encapsulated as PR-69 DCAM by PCGS.  There were only 144,748 of this Proof Leif Ericson Silver Dollars minted at the Philadelphia (P) Mint.  This Leif Ericson Commemorative Coin was produced by the United States Mint and is specially designed and created to commemorate the millenium of Leif Ericson's role as explorer and "Founder of the New World".  The obverse of the Leif Ericson Commemorative Dollar was designed by John Mercanti and depicts a profile of Ericson.  The reverse of the Leif Ericson Silver Coin was designed by James Ferrell and it features an image of a Viking Longboat with Ericson triumphantly leading his party from the bow of the ship.

This modern commemorative silver dollar is comprised of .900 (90%) silver and .100 (10%) copper with a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams with a reeded edge.
