We are pleased to offer for sale this Booker T. Washington Memorial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1946-1951) in XF-40 or Better Condition.  This Booker T. Washington ( BTW )  Memorial Half Dollar was designed by Isaac Scott Hathaway and was issued to perpetuate the ideals and teachings of Booker T. Washington.  There were 1,609,041 of these Booker T. Washington Memorial Commemorative Silver Half Dollar Coins minted at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints from 1946 through 1951, making it of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector.  The obverse of the Booker T. Washington Commemorative Half Dollar features a portrait of BTW.  The reverse of the Booker T. Washington Silver Commemorative Half Dollar has the legend FROM SLAVE CABIN TO HALL OF FAME with his log-cabin birthplace pictured below. The Booker T. Washington Silver Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
