  • Information on the State Quarters:

A unique event in the history of United States coinage began in 1999 when the U.S Mint released the first five issues of a total of 50 different quarters commemorating the 50 United States.  The State Quarter series ran from 1999 through 2008.

The State Quarters were issued at a rate of five different quarter designs per year, with coins struck in the same order the states entered the Union.  In the case of the thirteen original colonies, coins were released in the order they ratified the Constitution.

Each unique reverse design was proposed by its respective State then approved by the Secretary of the Treasury.  State Quarter designs honor the history, geography, or traditions of each State, and are produced by the staff engravers at the U.S. Mint. A new Obverse for the State Quarter was designed by Mint Sculptor-engraver William Cousins featuring the words "United States of America", "Quarter Dollar", "Liberty", and "In God We Trust" as well as a sharpened image of George Washington.

The standard weight of the State Quarters is 5.670 grams and the standard diameter is .955 inches.  They have reeded edges and a cupro-nickel clad composition (8.33% nickel, Balance CU) .

These State Quarter Albums both include 5 pages and hold all of the Statehood Commemorative Quarters from 1999 to 2008. The  Dansco State Quarter Albums features two gold-stamped posts within the brown leatherette binder to hold the pages in place. Clear plastic slides within each page ensure secure storage and allow for easy viewing of both sides of the commemorative coins. Information on each Washington coin is imprinted under the port for the State Quarter on the page. On the inside of the front covers there is a write up on the history and characteristics of the Commemorative State Quarters.  On the inside of the back covers of the State Quarter Albums there is a list of each State with State capitol, State nickname, and Statehood date.

The Dansco Archival Slipcases feature Silver-Guard corrosion-inhibiting protection. No other product on the market matches Silver-Guard protection against corrosion. Unlike other competing anti-corrosion albums that incorporate only a 1/2 mm of anti-corrosion material, Silver-Guard offers a dense 2 mm coating for years of protection.

As a serious collector this is all you need for your set of State Quarters. These high quality albums and slipcases are a great way to store and preserve your Statehood Quarters Collection. Any numismatist would be proud to display their collection in these albums and slipcases. This albums and slipcases are new from our inventory and Made in the USA.
