We are pleased to offer for sale this Battle of Antietam Anniversary Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1937) in XF-40 or Better Condition.   This 1937 Battle of Antietam Anniversary Silver Commemorative Half Dollar was struck to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the famous Civil War battle.  There were only 18,028 of the 1937 Antietam Silver Half Dollars minted at the Philadelphia Mint.  This Battle of Antietam Commemorative Coin was designed by William Marks Simpsom.  The Antietam Silver Half Dollar features opposing generals McClellan and Grant on the obverse and the Burnside Bridge, a tactical objective of the battle, on the reverse. The Battle of Antietam Silver Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
