We are pleased to offer for sale this 1946-S Booker T. Washington Memorial Commemorative Half Dollar graded and encapsulated as MS-65 by PCGS.  There were 500,279 of this Booker T. Washington Memorial Silver Half Dollar minted at the San Francisco (S) Mint in 1946. This Booker T. Washington Memorial (BTW) Half Dollar was designed by Isaac Scott Hathaway and was issued to perpetuate the ideals and teachings of Booker T. Washington.  The obverse of the Booker T. Washington Commemorative Half Dollar features a portrait of BTW.  The reverse of the Booker T. Washington Silver Commemorative Half Dollar has the legend FROM SLAVE CABIN TO HALL OF FAME with his log-cabin birthplace pictured below.

This classic commemorative half dollar is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.  Some of our slabbed commemorative coins may have toning.
