History: The Kwanzaa stamp sheet commemorates the week-long celebration honoring African heritage in African-American Culture. Observed between December 26th, and January 1st, Kwanzaa has seven core principles known as Nguzo Saba. Created by Maulana Karenga, an African-American professor and activist, it was first celebrated in 1966. The seven principles are unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith, with each day dedicated to one of these principles.
