We are pleased to offer for sale this 1936 Oregon Trail Memorial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar coin graded and encapsulated as MS-64 by PCGS. There were only 10,006 of this 1936 Oregon Trail Memorial Silver Half Dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint. This Oregon Trail Memorial Half Dollar was designed by James and Laura Fraser and was struck in commemoration of the Oregon Trail and in memory of the pioneers who traveled it. The obverse of the Oregon Trail Commemorative Half Dollar features a Conestoga wagon drawn by oxen heading into a setting sun. The reverse of the coin depicts an Indian standing erect with an outstretched arm as if to say, "Stop" superimposed on a map of the United States showing a line of Conestoga wagons heading West.    

This classic commemorative half dollar is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.  Some of our slabbed commemorative coins may have toning.
