We are pleased to offer for sale this1922 No D Strong Reverse Lincoln Wheat Cent KEY DATE coin graded and encapsulated as F-12 BN (Brown) by PCGS. Some 1922 pennies were minted at the Denver Mint with weak or missing "D" mintmarks . This mint error was caused by extremely worn dies. Three different die pairs were involved in the error. Two of the die pairs produced "Weak D" coins. The other die pair known as Die Number 2 identified by a Strong Reverse struck this "No D" coin. This "No D" error is very rare. Only 7,160,000 of the 1922 Lincoln Wheat Cents were minted at the Denver (D) Mint making them one of the KEY DATE coins of the series! It is unknown how many there are of this rare "No D" mint error.
