We are pleased to offer for sale this 2001-P Capitol Visitor Center Commemorative Proof Silver Dollar coin graded and encapsulated as PF-69 Ultra Cameo by NGC.   There were 143,793 of the 2001-P Capitol Visitor Center Commemorative Silver Proof Dollar minted at the Philadelphia (P) Mint.  This 2001-P Capitol Visitor Center Proof Silver Dollar was struck to commemorate the first convening of the Congress in the Capitol building.   The obverse of the 2001-P Capitol Visitor Center Commemorative Proof Silver Dollar was designed by Marika Somogyi and features an image of the old Capitol building with the new Capitol building in the background. The reverse side of the 2001-P Capitol Visitor Center Dollar was designed by John Mercanti and features a contemporary interpretation of the U.S. Double Eagle.

This modern commemorative silver dollar is comprised of .900 (90%) silver and .100 (10%) copper with a diameter of 38.1mm and a weight of 26.73 grams with a reeded edge.
