The obverse of the Black Revolutionary War Patriots Commemorative Dollar was designed by John Mercanti and features a portrait of Crispus Attucks. The reverse side of the Black Revolutionary War Patriots Commemorative Dollar was designed by Ed Dwight and displays a detail from the new Black Patriots Memorial, to be built on the National Mall.
