We are pleased to offer for sale this 1986-S Statue of Liberty Centennial Commemorative PROOF Half Dollar graded and encapsulated as PR-69 DCAM (DEEP CAMEO) by PCGS. The Statue of Liberty Commemorative Clad Half Dollar was struck in commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. This Statue of Liberty Proof Half Dollar is one of 6,925,627 minted at the San Francisco (S) Mint.  The obverse was designed by Edgar Steever and features a ship of immigrants steaming into New York Harbor, with the Statue of Liberty greeting them in the foreground.  On the reverse, designed by Sherl Joseph Winter, an immigrant family stands with their belongings on the threshold of America. The Statue of Liberty Commemorative Clad Half Dollar is comprised of .920 (92%) copper and .080 (8%) nickel with a diameter of 30.6mm and a weight of 11.2 grams with a reeded edge.
