This Washington-Carver Half Dollar was designed by Isaac Scott Hathaway and was struck in commemoration of the two prominent black Americans.  The obverse of the Washington-Carver Commemorative Half Dollar features conjoined busts of Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver.  The reverse of the Washington-Carver Silver Commemorative Half Dollar shows a map of the United States.  There were 1,106,292 of this 1952 Washington-Carver Silver Half Dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint, making it of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector.  The Washington-Carver Commemorative Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
