We are pleased to offer for sale this 1983-P Discus Thrower Olympic Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar graded and encapsulated as MS-69 by NGC. There were 294,543 of this Discus Thrower Uncirculated Silver Dollar minted at the Philadelphia (P) Mint.   The 1983-P Discus Thrower Olympic Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar was designed by Elizabeth Jones, chief engraver for the U.S. Mint.  The obverse of the 1983-P Discus Thrower Olympic Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar features a representation of the traditional Greek discus thrower, while the reverse depicts the head and upper body of a American Eagle.

This modern commemorative half dollar is comprised of .920 (92%) copper and .080 (8%) nickel with a diameter of 30.61mm and a weight of 11.34 grams with a reeded edge.
