We are pleased to offer for sale this 1918 Illinois Centennial Commemorative Silver Coin graded and encapsulated as MS-65 by NGC.  There were only 100,058 of this Illinois Centennial Commemorative Half Dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint.  This 1918 Illinois Centennial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar was designed by George T Morgan (obv) & J.R. Sinnock (rev). The Illinois Centennial Half Dollar was struck to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the admission of Illinois into the Union.  The obverse of the coin shows the head of Abraham Lincoln modeled after the statue by Andrew O'Connor in Springfield, Illinois.  The reverse design is based of the Illinois state seal.
