Lincoln Wheat Cents were only produced in 1909 and feature the designer's initials (V.D.B. for Victor D. Brenner) on  the reverse of the coin.  Only 484,000 of these rare 1909-S VDB Lincoln Wheat Cents were minted at the San Francisco (S) Mint making them one of the key coins for the collection.  This Lincoln Wheat Cent is also a Variety 1 Bronze, Wheat Ears Reverse coin (1909-1942) made of .950 copper and .050 tin and zinc.  Lincoln Wheat Cents weigh 3.11 grams and have a diameter of 19mm.
