We are pleased to offer for sale this Woodstock Awakening Bell AWB
. An instrument for sound healing and relaxation.
Developed in partnership with jazz great Jack DeJohnette, world renowned sound therapist Dr. John Beaulieu and Woodstock Chimes founder/musician Garry Kvistad.
When the Awakening Bell is sounded, the long overtones of the bell naturally puts the listener into a Theta state, which is a relaxed state characterized by deep calm. The tone of the Awakening Bell resonates with an area of the brain that helps control stress. Through this resonance we experience a lightness and sense of well being.
The Awakening Bell can be played two ways. Tap it and listen to the overtones, or rub it (Tibetan Singing Bowl style) and make it sing. The Awakening Bells comes with an instruction booklet that includes background information on the bell and explains how to play the bell (both styles of playing).
Maintenance: Every part of a Woodstock Chime is weather protected. Over time, however, those layers of protection can begin to wear. To enjoy your Woodstock Chimes for years to come, we suggest the following simple maintenance tips --
Periodically, apply a thin layer of Danish or lemon oil with a clean cloth to the hardwood parts. Regular oiling will help protect the wood and retard the natural aging process.
Woodstock Chimes tubes are made of anodized aluminum that will not rust when exposed to the elements. However, over time, the aluminum may show pitting as a result of environmental factors. Please note this will not affect the beautiful tones of your chimes. If necessary, use mild soap and water (or a foaming, non-abrasive cleanser) to clean the tubes. You can also use very fine #00 steel wool to polish and restore your aluminum tubes.
