We are pleased to offer for sale this Lynchburg Virginia Sesquicentennial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1936) in XF-40 or Better Condition.  This Lynchburg Virginia Sesquicentennial Half Dollar was designed by Charles Keck and was struck to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the issuance of a charter to the city of Lynchburg.  The obverse of the Lynchburg Virginia Sesquicentennial Commemorative Half Dollar features a bust of Senator Carter Glass, a native of Lynchburg and former Secretary of the Treasury.  The reverse of the Lynchburg Virginia Sesquicentennial Silver Commemorative Half Dollar shows lady liberty standing in front of the old Lynchburg courthouse.  There were only 20,013 of this Lynchburg Virginia Sesquicentennial Silver Half Dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint in 1936, making it of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector.  The Lynchburg Virginia Sesquicentennial Commemorative Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
