We are pleased to offer for sale this California Diamond Jubilee Silver Commemorative Half Dollar (1925) in XF-40 or Better Condition.  This California Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar was designed by Jo Mora, a popular California sculptor. The coin was struck to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the admission of California into the union. The obverse of the California Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar features a kneeling "Forty-Niner", a reference to the year 1849, the beginning of the California Gold Rush when a wave of people from around the nation and world descended upon California in hopes of finding gold .  The reverse of the California Diamond Jubilee Silver Commemorative Half Dollar shows a walking grizzly bear, the state emblem.  There were only 86,394 of this California Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar minted at the San Francisco (S) Mint in 1925, making it of great worth and value to the commemorative coin collector!  The California Diamond Jubilee Coin is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.
