We are pleased to offer for sale this 1936 Delaware Tercentenary Commemorative Half Dollar graded and encapsulated as MS-65 by PCGS.  There were only 20,993 of this Delaware Tercentenary Silver Half Dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint in 1937. This Delaware Tercentenary Half Dollar was designed by Carl L. Schmitz who won a design contest for the coin.  The Delaware Half Dollar was struck to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the landing of the Swedes in Delaware.  The obverse of the Delaware Tercentenary Half Dollar shows a rendition of the Old Swedes Church.  The reverse of the1936 Delaware Tercentenary Silver Commemorative Half Dollar features the Swedes' ship Kalmar Nyckel.

This classic commemorative half dollar is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.  Some of our slabbed commemorative coins may have toning.
