We are pleased to offer for sale this 1925 Stone Mountain Memorial Commemorative Half Dollar graded and encapsulated as MS-64 by NGC.  There were 1,314,709 of this Stone Mountain Silver Half Dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint in 1925. This Stone Mountain Memorial Half Dollar was designed by Gutzon Borglum who later sculpted Mount Rushmore.  The funds received from the sale of these 1925 Stone Mountain Memorial Half Dollars were devoted to the expense of carving figures of Confederate leaders and soldiers on Stone Mountain Georgia.  The obverse of the Stone Mountain Memorial Commemorative Half Dollar features Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson mounted on horses.

This classic commemorative half dollar is comprised of .900 silver and .100 copper (90% Silver), has a diameter of 30.6mm, and weighs 12.5 grams.  Some of our slabbed commemorative coins may have toning.
